Hotel Reservations

Due to the extraordinary interest in our convention for the anniversary year, our discount room block at our host hotel, the Marriott Los Angeles Airport Hotel, was completely sold out within an hour of it being offered (including three expansions of the block and an additional contracted block we offered Tuesday), but there are still rooms available in the hotel for the standard rack rate. Meanwhile, there are also plenty of rooms available at neighboring/adjoining hotels -- in fact, most at or even below the original Gallifrey One discount rate that was available at the Marriott. If you are interested in a hotel room for the convention, we have created the following list and suggest you not delay making your reservations immediately.

Host Hotel

As of May 9, 2012, rooms at the Marriott LAX are still available, but at the much higher rack rate of $239-269/night depending where you check (either through the Marriott's site, or through the online travel sites such as Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc.) You may be able to find a room night for as low as $169 if you check by individual nights only, but we know that Friday night is completely sold out of anything under $269, so frankly, the Marriott is no longer recommended as being a good option unless you have multiple people staying in your room and can split costs. There are no rooms available at the $100/night or $125/night original discount blocks (they are long sold out).

Hoteling Alternatives

As we are located at the Los Angeles International Airport, there are plenty of good hotel options and opportunities available in the local area, many of which are extremely close to the Marriott. We encourage you to check out the following hotels that are within close walking distance, some adjacent to ours. Note: please check these out via the travel websites (Travelocity, Expedia, etc.) as they are frequently cheaper.

Hilton LAX Airport & Towers, 5711 West Century Blvd., on the opposing side of the Marriott parking lot and one door down (past the Park Air parking structure). $102/night as of May 2012 (non-refundable, the refundable rate is $120/night).

Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Airport, 5985 West Century Blvd., across the street (Airport Blvd.) and one door down, but still a 5 minute walk. $109/night as of May 2012.

Renaissance Montura Los Angeles Airport, 9620 Airport Blvd., one block north of the Marriott. $109/night as of May 2012.

Travelodge Hotel at LAX Airport, 5547 West Century Blvd., one block east of the Marriott. $73/night as of May 2012, including free-wifi.

Holiday Inn LAX, 9901 South La Cienega Blvd., at the intersection next to the 405 freeway. $118/night as of May 2012.

La Quinta Inn & Suites LAX, 5249 West Century Blvd., at the intersection next to the 405 freeway. $79/night as of May 2012.

Wingate by Wyndham LAX, 10300 S. La Cienega Blvd., at the intersection next to the 405 freeway and half a block south. $88/night as of May 2012.

Super 8 Motel LAX, about a quarter mile north of the Marriott, but there is free parking. $63/night as of May 2012.
