Although we’re taking a break for the spring, next year’s convention plans are still progressing a bit… and we’ve got a few guest confirmations to announce today.
BONNIE LANGFORD played the highly-controversial companion Melanie “Mel” Bush opposite Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy in the mid 1980s, joining the sixth Doctor during the “Trial of a Time Lord” season and departing at the end of season 24, and later reprising the role for Big Finish (which gave the character a new life of her own!) A former child actress, pantomime celebrity and entertainer who has remained popular in Britain for decades, it is our great delight to welcome back Bonnie – who made her first US appearance in many years at our 2001 event – for her first repeat visit in twelve years. Ms. Langford’s return visit is sponsored by our friends at Tenth Planet Events.
ANNETTE BADLAND made a big impression upon Doctor Who fans during the first season of the revival as the Slitheen warrior Margaret Blaine in “Aliens of London,” “World War Three” and later in “Boom Town”. More recently, Badland – who has featured in films such as “Charlie & The Chocolate Factory” and TV series such as “The Sparticle Mystery” has portrayed Ursula on Russell T Davies & Phil Ford’s new genre series Wizards Vs. Aliens. This will be her first US appearance and we are thrilled to welcome her.
Also making return visits as part of our “25th anniversary” celebration are television & audio writer ROB SHEARMAN and audio & comics writer TONY LEE, both multiple-year guests of the convention. Unfortunately, we must announce also that, due to schedule conflicts, Justin Richards will not be able to be with us.
We do expect some other announcements in the next month or two, so stay tuned!
